Wordpress banned in Thailand?

I got a comment from Jerry from Phuket, that he can’t access my site, and his site has been banned to. The Lost Boy also wrote that there are WordPress blogs he can’t access. Apparently some ISPs have blocked access to certain webpages/blogs. Here is a very interesting thread to read that you can read here, at the WordPress.com Forums

I find it intriguing that my blog should be banned. Joe, a friend, once said I seem more conservative on my blog than I really am… and now… I get banned? Lets just wait and see what happens in Thailand. If ‘they‘ ban Blogspot, Myspace, Facebook, etc etc they might as well just ban the whole internet!……

I have no problem accessing your blog. It might be just some “butterfly effect”. While trying to ban specific blogs the “innocent” are effected as well. I think sometimes it’s just a matter of the routing to the server. I cannot access certain US sites if my connection is routed through China.
No problem at all accessing this blog through DTAC EDGE and AIS GPRS services in the Northeast of Thailand. Maybe just a technical problem..

I got slightly paranoid after reading your blog this morning over toast & coffee on the patio, watching the clouds drift over Doi Suthep….. I was horrified that my blogs comments feed had dropped out and started reading round the net for answers.
It seems that there have been a number of recent glitches with blogger and others have experienced the same as me (phew), which is of no consolation to you but all the same, a worry that there is some invasion going on!
Anyway, the upshot of your making me choke over my toast & coffee is that now, I have backed up my blog completely for fear that I might stand to lose so much, should I get shut down.
Have you done the same?

I’ve had this problem as well.. and quite constantly! It seems like ‘they’ are not targeting specific websites, they just want to ban all of Wordpress. I can’t access a private blog of mine — and imagine, this is a private blog! However, I am able to access my blog from time to time. How very strange..

Hi Darwin,KorCat, Ally and Yu. Thanx for leaving a comment. I use CMNET and don’t have trouble accessing blogs. Yes, I think I have a blog back up.. have to ask my friend Vic.. Yu love what you are doing at NIS… cool!!!
