It's interesting coz so many times you see/think different from the way that Thai people do. Talking about Ping river, as I can recall (I lived in CM from 1984 to 2000), it's always like that, but it doesn't mean the water is polluted or anything (if i'm not wrong), anyway i'm not so sure about it now..(havent' been to CM for a few years). I agree that it would be great if the city spend more money on parks, bike trails, etc..but as you might know, there're lot of corruptions in local governement too...just hope for the best that the new (female) mayor would do something different.
