What can I do to help the people from Burma?
Oct 5th, 2007 by Lillian
Someone wrote a comment asking what I do to help free Burma. I think thats a valid question and I’ll try and answer it honestly.. Firstly I don’t do anything really. I USED to… I have visited Karen Refugee Camps (Refugees from Burma) and once I was the driver of team of Thai Health-care Workers who brought in medical supplies and gave workshops for people in the camps. I’ve brought blankets, clothes etc. But that was a few years ago. Now today, on a practical scale, I donate clothes. I have friends who have sold themselves out to help the people from Burma and all I can do is be a friend to them, listen to their stories and encourage them to keep going. I’ve chosen to be at home, not do compassion trips and by being away so often, neglect my children. So, in reply to the question, I do very little and by posting that ‘Free Burma’ banner, I express that I care and I do wish for peace in Burma and for those who are fighting for freedom the strength to go on.

to me it is ok doesn’t mean showing support that you have to be all out until we neglect our core responsibilities and duties. Sometimes, there is so much that we can do
