Kids on budget flights
Jul 23rd, 2005 by Lillian
Our kids all found it quite annoying that they didn’t get a meal or toys on Tiger Airways ! They thought it was a really boring flight because they didn’t show a movie or have those private little screens that Singapore Airline has on long distance flights. Spoilt or what?
But the staff did come around with a trolley and you could buy a small meal for 8 sing. dollars I think it was ( sorry.. I’m really bad with numbers.. that’s why I generally avoid them !) Drinks were served for a couple of dollars. Of-course we took our own water and some snacks along, and non of the crew complained.
When you travel on a budget flight with kids you have to plan a bit better then when travelling with other airlines.. There isn’t anything entertaining and its left up the the parents. Thank God for gameboys
and books and ofcourse, immigration forms to fill in hahaha. Seriously, pack toys, books, walkman and as I said, a gameboy. The kids love them and it gave me some time to read my new book.

The longest flight I ever didwas uk-australia and, as I was alone on the plane I can honestly say that my GBA and Advance Wars game saw me through it!
the good thing about budget flights is … before you really have time to think about movies, drinks, food … it’s time to land! .. and the kids are dissapointed it went so quick!
Well, budget flight doesn’t mean its a short flight. Chiang Mai -Singapore is 2hrs 40 min… but we had to wait till we could land so the actual time in the plane was over 3 hours. We found it long enough….
