My Thailand Diary

9am we arrived at immigration with our lawyer who had been there since 8am.  All the papers were ready. My husband got his visa approved a month ago and now it was his  families turn to  get one. Don’t ask me why they couldn’t do it all at the same time..new policy….. At 10.30 we saw we were getting nowhere so we were told to come back at 1pm. So we did and then waited till 3.30pm. The kids had to miss a whole day of school and one teacher didn’t show much sympathy but hey, it really wasn’t in our hands….Apparently immigration was a little under staffed and that is why everything took so long. We noticed some other people who spent the whole day there as well. We finally got our one year visa ! Yippee. We can stay! Once that stamp was in my passport I didn’t really mind the hours we waited. Our kids did fine and my daughter13 was very happy that she didn’t have to go to school on her birthday! (Bit ironic I think…) So we are here for another year.. lets party !
