Thou Shallt Not..

ANOTHER ban in Thailand. Not only am I not allowed to burn the rubbish in my garden, or drop my garbage along a road and burn it, nor am I allowed to burn the underwood of my forests. Now, I’m also not allowed to light my cigarette in pub or restaurant. Oh and I’m not allowed to drive and use my mobile phone, like I’m not allowed to drink and drive. Am I allowed to use that 6 mm-BB Bullet Airsoft Gun ? This is sounding more and more like Switzerland everyday !! Why are all the fun things being forbidden? laughing wickedly

LOL I was just thinking this yesterday when I was watching some boys sitting on a huge pile of mattresses in the back of a pick up truck… there they were, lying around as the truck swerved through the traffic… and a little piece of me, sitting, tucked into my seatbelt, thought “oh I wish I could do that!”. Do they really have a ban on smoking in Thailand? I can’t imagine it!

LOL - all those things are banned in Oz too - I just can’t imagine smoking being banned in Thailand. I have vivid memories of men (and old ladies) standing around everywhere with little stubs of cigarettes in their hands!

Juz - Old Thai ladies smoking? I’ve never seen that!

In my opinion, The smoking ban will be enforced in tourist areas, but not so much everywhere else… Just like the drinking ban while the elections were taking place.

maybe Im thinking of Indonesia Chris? I spent some time in both places about 15 years ago, but it’s getting foggy on the old brain! lol

Juz, Thai people don’t really smoke, like Chris said its the tourists, and expats… Chroetti.. public show of affection is not really done in Thailand! I have yet to see a Thai couple kiss in a public place !

Ha ha - I can’t believe anyone will actually take a smoking ban seriously! It is time to be a rebel I think!
