.. more about Swiss Independenc Day in Chiang Mai
Aug 2nd, 2005 by Lillian
The first of August, Swiss Indepence Day we went to the Amari Rincome hotel, expecting some sort of Swiss Program. Well, the food was Swiss and there were some swiss flags hung up but I think my friend with her kids and us were the only swiss in the restaurant. How disappointing is that??!! IF their were any other swiss they sure made a point to keep it a secret. I was expecting to meet the swiss community in Chiang Mai. Where did they go? No idea.. probably all glad that they don’t live in Switzerland and don’t need to see their country men!! The food was expensive and some of the dishes were cold. Too bad.. it could have been fun. We will NEVER DO THAT AGAIN !!!

the best place to eat swiss food in Thailand is:
- no not in the hotels
- no not in the restaurants
- no not in the Bangkok
- no not in the south
- in the solitude of your own home …. all you need are some swiss spices, some nice cheese, some potatoes, some beef or chicken, bacon and lots of cream - not the diet stuff ! the reall thick cream - from a really well fed and fat swiss cow living in the mountains with a loud bell around her neck - … sorry but it’s true … it’s the cream which makes - THE difference to swiss food! … “en guetä mitänang!”
