Preparing to travel

.. thats what I’m doing today. My Son7 packed his carry on luggage about 10 days ago filled with important things like his roller-blades, a warm blanket, 2 warm pullovers, socks and game-boy. He did realise that it doesn’t all fit so after a long talk with his mummy, he decided to leave the warm blanket here and settle for the roller-blades. Obviously he’s worried he’ll be cold. Fair enough. Once when he was 6 weeks old we were visiting Switzerland in December, and we were visiting friends who like to save energy and had the heating on 18C in winter. He cried and cried. His diaper was changed, he’d been fed. So I put the super warm overall thingy on him and he calmed down. My poor baby was cold ! Born and raised in Thailand sort of does that to you My daughter13 has bought new jeans, and jacket. She is also worried she won’t be warm. (We’re only going 5 weeks! Ok, thats not ”only” but compared to everyone else leaving for good, its an only. ) This afternoon I’ll see what we want to take along. I wouldn’t mind waiting till tomorrow evening ( we leave Sunday evening) no need to rush but my Son7 really thinks I should start packing. So, being a good mum, I’ll start packing today

schön chömeter ändlech widermau id schwiz. die letschte zwöi wuche isches sehr oft über 30Grad gsi, das chönt öich no zuesäge

i would wait until saturday night, too. and then freak. and your son seems to have a much better plan - get started early. i’ve heard that works much better.

what do you do with your dog when you’re gone for that long?

sind auch gerade am bereitlegen für’s packen! bloss unsere kinder sind noch untentschossen; was aber auf jeden fall mitmuss ist die angelrute! lachse wir kommen………

You never can know what that European weather will kick up - summer can offer heat waves or freezing rain in my experience… good luck with the packing.
