Chiang Mai Floods
Aug 22nd, 2005 by Lillian
Chiang Mai experienced the worst floods in 40 years. And we were out of town! We got loads of telephone calls from concerned friends who had heard, or seen that our area was underwater. Luckily our house was spared. The water only came about 1 meter close to our house which really is nothing. Our neighbors moved my car to higher ground. The mubahn was flooded about 50 cm high. I still don’t have pictures but will hopefully get some soon!
Chiang Mai Mail took a lot of pictures and you can see them here.
Unbelievable! The road along the river where we live is once again full of potholes. Unfortunately this isn’t a new thing. EVERY rainy season it looks terrible and the government has to go and fix all the holes.
The roads in our mubahn are quite muddy but I was expecting it to be much worse !! I’m glad people have done so much cleaning up.
