Flooded again

Chiang Mai is flooded again. I’ll get some pictures out to you ASAP. We can only leave our mubahn with a pickup truck that is high and has a snorkel. Our poor kids had to go to school. All the neighbour kids got to stay home cos the schools close by are all flooded. Chiang Mai Land, Nightbazar, Nong Hoi, Palm Springs Mubahn, and the Montfort College, parts of Lampang/Lampun road are flooded. Its just terrible.
The diffrence to the flood in August is, that people were prepared. Sandbags really do help! People who knew there place would flood parked their cars on the superhighway. Therefore there are massive traffic jams.
I just love the Thai people. Driving the kids to school this morning you could see people drinking beer and filling more sandbags. Every occasion is made into a party ! People smile, all talk together. I went round the mubahn with some women and we checked where the water was flooding. Chatted with all the neighbours. I don’t need to worry about anyone breaking in my car, or looting. Smiles in-spite of the disaster.

I just saw it in the news paper this afternoon.
I guess all the places around the Mae ping river are all flooded. I hope your house did survive to this catatrophe.
I’m planning to go to Chiang Mai beginning of next month. Like I say, whatever the problem is, the best way to put things back on rail is to bring my coins to the place.
Hope it won’t happen again.
