Lillian. I'm a big Typhoon expert since my small island is hit many times a year. It does loose its power when it gets on land, but the clouds won't stop. that's what made huge floodings in mozambica couple of years ago. The storm was no longer a storm but the clouds were carrying heavy rains. I hope it won't be too bad. I love Chiang Mai and its people. Take care. Give some news as soon as you can. hi! Lillian.
