Typhoon Damray coming to Northern Thailand????
Sep 27th, 2005 by Lillian

Typhoon Damray has hit Vietnam and destroyed some protective dykes.
To see where the typhoon is heading click here. The direction is North West. Thailand is expecting to be effected by flash floods, mudslides. Chiang Mai is expecting worst flood ever. I don’t know what to think. I’m getting sick of these flood warning and floods. There are signs in town to stock up on food and drinking water. Children are leaving schools early again. There are a couple of soldiers piling up sandbags along the river. If I look around me, it looks like there will be something major, something terrible happening. Doesn’t a typhoon usually slow down as it goes inland?

hi! Lillian.
I’m a big Typhoon expert since my small island is hit many times a year. It does loose its power when it gets on land, but the clouds won’t stop. that’s what made huge floodings in mozambica couple of years ago. The storm was no longer a storm but the clouds were carrying heavy rains.
I hope it won’t be too bad. I love Chiang Mai and its people. Take care.
Give some news as soon as you can.
Lillian, I keep hearing that Thailand will be “hit hard” but I am not sure where. I hope you all stay safe:) Seems like the year of the storm, doesn’t it?
