I’ve avoided writing about thai food for all this time. Not because I don’t like it, I LOVE thai food. Just seems that there are so many good sites out there already. Check out Richard Barrows : Enjoy Thai Food.
Right now my favorite dish is Phat Krapau Moo. Pork fried in basil. I buy it from a street vendur who knows me well. I can even order it and pick it up later. She puts in in little plastic bags for me because she knows I don’t like the white plastic containers. AND she doesn’t add MSG. Most foodstalls here in Chiang Mai have food enhancer in the form of a powder and they just throw some over it.
Enjoy Richards site, its really good.

I stay in Kedah which is quite near the Thai border (15 minutes away in fact) and most of the food vendors here are Thai. As I am a vegetarian, I don’t have a lot of choice but soem of these guys know me well enough that they can come up with some great vegetarian dishes - including vegetarian tom yam.
I love Krapau too! Yummmm….makes my mouth water just thinking about it. I really love “saleem” the coconut milk/bean/ice/jelly dessert…do you ever eat that? Wish I could get it here!
Preya, Yes, you can get that here and loads of diffrent Thai Kanom… its just I just don’t really them…. I’ll eat it if I feel it would be VERY impolite not to but otherwise … hmmm.. no thanks
Enjoy Thai food? Oh, my mouth was watering. My son had sticky rice for the first time yesterday and loved it. I yearn for plain old green chicken curry.
