Thats not really what this post is about, but I can’t think of a better title 
It is amazing how many whitening cremes you can buy there. Not long ago I came home with a Nivea Deodorant only to realize that it had whitening in it. Ok, I can understand that whitening can be attractive for some people but white armpits ? isn’t that going a bit too far?? hmmmmm
Talking about white is beautiful….We were at a thai/farang wedding yesterday. We arrived late enough to be appropriate. My 5 year old flew into a fit after the first person touched him. He hates being touched but because of his cute face and blond hair he’s like a magnet to thai people . Old and young alike.
My daughter 11 has long hair and finds it quite flattering when someone touches her hair. Makes her feel special. My son who is 9 never lets anyone near enough. Moves no stop to keep them away. Unfortunately after such occasions I always feel very guilty for not having more perfect kids who smile and stay well behaved. Oh well. I guess I do care more about how my kids feel than having the best behaved children at a wedding.

Well, I think I’d be very afraid if I were a little nine-year-old (don’t knkow how tall your son is) entering a room full of strangers who then swoop down on me like vultures targetting on their prey, making goochy-noises and pinching my cheeks. *brrrrr*
according to the advertisments on tv, white armpits are suppose to be very appealing to guys … which leads to the question ‘ would you go out w/ a guy who checks out your armpits ? ‘ … very freaky

Sounds like a good opportunity to explain to your children about what beauty is. It certainly isn’t white. All children are beautiful.
What your children are is different and very western looking. They stand out. In Korea, white children are also seen as different and “pretty,” however they will also say that Korean children are the cutest and most beautiful.
It’s all relative really.
I’m saddened by the skin lightening cremes. It creates a self-loathing that passes on to the children.
