Accident in the jungle
Nov 21st, 2005 by Lillian
The day was beautiful. Not too warm and not cold. Early in the morning, out in the jungle is the best time of the day. This was Mr. Kinds first time to climb. I was a little bit nervous to have to explain everything but he learnt REALLY fast and soon I was up on the first climb. He climbed top rope and was very proud of himself when he got down safely.
After a while we decided to go exploring. I love the jungle and won’t miss a chance to do that. The cave there is awesome. We saw monkeys, ants, bees, flies and heard crickets and birds.
Mr. Kind really really enjoyed it and out of pure joy he swung on a branch he had stood on a few minutes before. As he swung his leg up in front of him, the branch let go. He fell on his back and then before I could do anything the branch fell on his head. For what seemed like forever he couldn’t breath. The only thing that calmed me was that he said: I can’t can’t breath. I figured if you can still talk you still have some breath left. After a powerful loud prayer for help, he started breathing normally. Thank God he could feel his legs and didn’t fall unconscious, inspite of a deep cut above his hip, which was bleeding and a big bump on his head.
He was sooo brave, I couldn’t believe it. We walked back down to the car and drove to hospital which all in all took well over an hour.
How scary. I must have thought a million thoughts in one second.. what if he can’t stand up, what if he broke his back, what if he faints how will I ever get this BIG man down to the car, what if, what if, what if.
Well, he made it home after being getting X-rayed, stitched and all his wounds disinfected. He’ll be ok. Thank God.

mein Englisch ist leider nicht soo toll, aber ich versuche zu verstehen.
Werde öfters bei Dir vorbei schauen und wünsche Dir einen guten Start in die neue Woche

Ach Herrje! Thank goodness, dass nichts Schlimmeres passiert ist! Ich wünsche Deinem Mann eine schnelle Heilung und Genesung! Gottseidank, dass Du auch dabei warst…
thanx..it wasn’t my husband but a friend of ours who got hurt…Mr. Kind. I almost called him Big C but thats the name of a shopping center here and that wouldn’t be very nice obviously…
Hahhaa, okay. Verstanden. Thanks for the comment on my blog! Yeah, I had to laugh at that video. It’s soooo funny!
That must have been really scary. Whenever I go treking I always make sure that I go in a group, never alone or in twos.
Liebe Lillian,
Did I told you I did that once when I was younger? Actually twice.
The first time from a tree down to the ground and it was something like 4 metres high. Couldn’t breath properly for the 1st minute but then it came progressively back.
The 2nd time was in a full stadium in front of a big crowd where I slipped on some water. I falled straight on my back it involved a big jump in the air to succes in this figure. Again, couldn’t breath for the 1st minute or so.
Luckily, I felt on the branch and not the opposite.
