This country needs a lot of prayer and attention. Aids is digging it's way in and slowly getting a grip in a terrible. If the people would hear and turn from their evil ways - it could be stopped. They are about 5 years behind - and for once that is good - but something has to happen. They need to sing their anthem more!

Lillian,

I am also a TCK (Third Culture Kid) and grew up on the western side of PNG (in what is now known as "Papua").

Glad to find your blog...and to connect with another TCK! Please check out the website I posted...that is what I am all about!

I saw the news on the MAF crash in PNG - what is your dad's name? Do you know who the pilot was who died? I keep in contact with a lot of MAF folks - and they are also wondering (most have retired).

Looking forward to hearing back from you - and no, I do not have a web-blog site...yet.

I use to go to Humpty Dumpty, and Gordon International, for Pre-School and Kindergarten. I can sort of recall the Anthem too, and singing she'll be comin round the mountain in the morning assembly. I use to live in Port Morsby and also Lae.Heh. How interesting.

Hi there,

I too was born in PNG . I was there till I was 9. From there we moved on to the Philippines, Singapore, then finally back to my passport country, New Zealand, here I have now been for officially 20 years!
I am in my early 30s ( sounds old as I type it).
I have 3 gorgeous kids and 1 great husband.

I always thought we'd be overseas somewhere warm by now. I so want the kids to experience what I had - a proper view of my place in the world, the benefits of seeing things through a differnet perpective.

However, family commitments keep us here, and I drift off every now and then into wishful/prayerful thoughts of future travels.

I'd love to know whether I knew you as a child - I went to school at Banz International Primary School - along with about 20 others.

I'm doing a lecture for a Bible School here we work in, on Cross-cultural missions, and have found myself reminiscing, feeling very nostalgic.

Well,
God Bless.
And good luck keeping those ants out of your cupboard!

-Rach.

Hi!
I went to Tari international primary school, where I did grade 3 and 4 respectively!

I also remember my teachers...Ms Deep or Dip, and Ms Hamalton or Harrisson!

Goodness! I'm trying to clear the cobwebs but its really difficult to remember!

I'm Fijian and my father was a minister of religion (United Church).

Some names I do remember from my class are:

- Ian and Andrea McNaugton
- Darren
- Solomon Beraki (Fijian)
- Margaret Qalo (Fijian)
- Betty (Sri Lanka)
- Martin S
-
I can see their faces now but I can't remeber their names!

Laisa
I went to TIPS until 1989. You might know my sister Bridget Allen who was older and around the years the McNaughtons were there. She married Keith Fearon, brother of Roderick who were also in those older years. My mum did some teaching of the older kids too Mrs Allen. We lived at Dauli Teachers College. Aunty Marj Deep is still around I think (but not in PNG anymore, back in Australia).

Hi Lillian,

I am Fiona Langridge's (ex Allen) dad and worked at Dauli Teachers College for ten years. I remember your family really well and am wanting to contact your father and mother. Fiona mentioned that you had this blog so I thought I would try to contact you and see if I could get it from you. I did try to get the information from Markus through an email via his website but perhaps the email didn't get through. Would love to get the information.

Hi,

I am from Mendi (SHP) and was student and then lecturer at Dauli Teachers College. Barbara Arnold and Dorothy Cox were my lecturers and then my colleagues in 2000. I then moved to New Zealand and and caught up with Grayson Allan who is now doing some church work in Auckland, New Zealand. Barbara and Dorthy left Dauli Teachers College at the end of 2000 and they are in Australia now. I now work and live in the Middle East. Here is my email: johnrombo2004@yahoo.com
