Midnight bells poem
Feb 3rd, 2006 by Lillian
I caught your eye across the room
and had to look again.
But you had turned away. I tried to pay attention to the conversation of my friends but my mind kept going back to your face.
When our eyes met again I found myself unable to look away.
You stood up and came to me and asked me to dance.
You were irresistible, handsome, eternal and I melted in your arms. You made me feel like a princess, beautiful and special. The music ended and a beautiful woman came up to you and said it was time to go home.
Kissing my hand you said you must leave.
Oh the disappointment and pain.
I heard the midnight bells ringing.
All good things come to an end.
