My Son9 had a whole week where they did projects at school. In german it’s called ‘Aktivitäts Woche’ Literally translated, activity week. The theme was Stone Age and they got to make fire without a lighter, visit caves, bake over the fire and other fun stuff. On the last day the parents were invited to come and see all the diffrent things they had done. I really didn’t feel like going (bad mum…. ) but ofcourse I went.. like a good mum. I took some pictures of the bamboo they wove. Its really great they got to try that out. I remember doing that as a kid and my hands hurt so much from the splinters… my son must be tough, he never complained. The woven bamboo was then used for little hut they made. The roof was covered with teakwood leaves. Looked great! I’ll try and get a pic of the whole house….

Wow, that looks like fun. Our Boy9 has “Projektwoche” coming up soon, but I’ve forgotten what they’re doing. One year it was a Medieval market and the next a circus performance with a real circus.
Sounds like fun – not only for kids but for us adults too. To learn survival skills. Reminds me, it seems like a lifetime since I last went out camping in the wild.
Maybe a great idea to build your own weekend cottage on that gorgeous beach !
Great idea Sidney. Survivor Phuket or something and make my own hut !
