Capoeira in Singapore
Mar 11th, 2006 by Lillian
If I were in Singapore I know where I’d be going tonight !! To the Hollandse Club ! Some really cool friends of ours, Tensnflo, are totally into Capoeira. Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art developed in the 1500s by African slaves. It is marked by deft, tricky movements often played on the ground or completely inverted. It also has a strong acrobatic component in some versions and is always played with music. The word capoeira has a few meanings, one of which is an area of forest or jungle that has been cleared by burning or cutting down. (according to the wikipedia..)
Check out my friends webpage to find out more ! It sounds like great fun!!
