Cyclone over Burma and Thailand

Chiang Mai officials are on full alert for possible flash floods.The northern office of the Meteorological Department announced at at 4 am on Saturday the storm was moving
at the speed of 18 kilometres per hour and its maximum wind speed
near the centre was about 140 kilometre per hour. It was about 300 kilometres east of Rangoon in the Bengal Bay and expected to move ashore in the afternoon.

Scarry. What should we do about it? No one has put sandbags out or anything so I’m not too worried.. should I be??…. Lets hope and pray for the best !

Hope the Cyclone doesn’t get close to you. I experienced the tail of a Typhoon when I worked in Hong Kong. The whole place shut down, and there were no people or cars on the street. It did get very windy!
Apart from a big pot plant that got blown over and powercuts we weren’t effected by the storm. Phew…
