Coronation Day Thailand

His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand , Rama IX is the ninth King of the Chakri Dynasty. Today, the 5th of May, Thai people rejoice and express their loyalty and thankfulness to their King. His coronation took place in the year 1950. Religious rites have already been observed on the 3rd and 4th of May. Today,a feast will be given to Buddhist monks and the King will be dressed in full regalia. At noon, the Royal Thai Army and the Royal Thai Navy will each fire a salute of 21 guns. And then later, decorations will be bestowed on officials and civilians who have done meritorious services to the state and society.
