Don’t
- Open gifts in the presence of the giver or expect yours to be opened.
In Switzerland its rude if you don’t open it. Again, I’ll just have to do the right thing at the right place. If not, forgive me, I’m culturally confused lol.

Impossible to keep it all straight, isn’t it? I remember reading somewhere that you never take flowers to people in Singapore as they’re associated with funerals. Cripes! So how am I supposed to take it if someone brings me flowers?
Isn’t it hard to know what the local customs are if you’ve never been part of that particular celebration before? I would think it rude if somone tucked a gift away as well, particularly if I were there to help them celebrate. Emily Post just doesn’t cater for this kind of stuff!
