Grocery shopping in Brügg
Jul 12th, 2006 by Lillian
We went food shopping the other day. Just wanted to buy some of the basic foods like cheese, chocolate and honey lol. (just kidding) Well, we went to the Migros in Brügg. Its got a huge parking area and really practical if you have a car. The whole experience was overwhelming. The amount of things for sale, the variety. We wanted to buy bread.. there is a whole shelf of bread, white bread, brown bread, one, two, three, four corn bread, toast, frozen bread to put in the microwave, garlic bread etc etc. AND apparently the bread from Migros isn’t so good (huh??)… Anyway.. we picked one. It was also very hard to stay focused. All those ‘non food sections’ the colorful candles, the table clothes, the little things which look sooo good in the shop and which call out to me -buy me buy me- were very hard to ignore.
We bought what we needed and managed to leave without buying anything we don’t need. Mission accomplished ….

That’s the same way I feel when I come back to the U.S. in the summer. The grocery stores here are overwhelming.
That’s funny Lillian, because I when I go to the US I always think compared to there Switzerland has no variety! It’s all about perspective I guess
well, I guess the states has more variety.. but coming from Thailand its overwhelming. In Singapore there was more .. or diffrent? hard to say…
It is always interesting to see what is on sale, and how it is arrranged, in different countries. I would give anything for a grocery store that sold tablecloths and candles as well!
