If you are interested in the history of Switzerland, and old castles
this is the place to go. WOW. The castle was first built around the
year 1281. I don’t have time to do more research but if you are
interested check out this and this sites. We had such a great day with my brother-in-laws family. Walking through the castle, looking at
all the armors, the walls, the prison,walking the many stairs and just trying to imagine how
people lived back then. Such a diffrent life they lived. This place is so rich with history it’s quite overwhelming for someone like me who grew up in a developing country. Papua New Guinea where anything a decade old, was very very old.

This looks like a fantastic place to take children to really expose them to “living history.” Once you see those suits of armour all set up, you can’t help but imagine yourself inside one of them!
