Laternen Fest in Chiang Mai

Yesterday the kindergarten, first and second grade had their ”laternen fest”. It was a lovely evening, We met at a big field in one of the ‘mubahns’, enjoyed a pot luck and then all the children got the candles lit in their lanterns and off we marched singing songs.
Basically this celebration is about remembering how St. Martin helped the poor. The children really enjoyed. Its fun for them to walk around in the dark with their friends, teachers and parents…. AND I got to hold a baby who is about 3 months old.. SOOO CUTE.. makes me want another one, well, not really but I do love babies.

Hey, we did this too. First time I’ve heard of St Martin but we were invited by some German friends to take our daughter out with them. Quite a good night though we didn’t walk too far and it concluded at an Aussie pub. Good night and the kids enjoyed it.
Der Sankt Martins Umzug fiel bei uns wortwörtlich ins Wasser, leider. Aber bei diesem kaltem Regenwetter (zudem die Kleine erkältet) wollte ich nicht mit den Kindern raus. Letztes Jahr war der Umzug wunderschön und das Spiel um Sankt Martin (mit Pferd, Ritter und Bettler) wirklich sehenswert.
Ooh ein Baby *smile* ja,ja da kommen Gefühle auf …auch ich liebe Babys nach wie vor, bin aber auch glücklich darüber nicht noch mal „von vorne“ beginnen zu müssen
