Real Beauty

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What is beautiful? Or, I should say who is beautiful? To the Karen people of Burma, a woman who is abit ‘chubby’, is considered beautiful. In Switzerland, to be almost to anorexic, is beautiful. In Thailand, small and slim is beautiful. Media makes us believe that those women on the covers are beautiful. Long necks, big eyes, narrow face, amazing hair etc etc. Watch this video.. its really, hmmm, what shall I say, amazing? good? well done? shocking? maddening? crazy? absolutely idiotic? genius? Pick the word you would use. The first thought is wow, she looks beautiful !

No idea…but I just saw something in the news about this campaign earlier today.
Interesting stuff. I’ve seen some of Dove commercials and its video, promoting women’s self confidence and all. Loving it.
It is hard for a girl well even women to survive this sociaty-tell-you-how-to-be-pretty thing everyday, but oh well, I believe parents have a lot to do with it to boost young girls’ self esteem.
Speaking of that, I was like that for a while–all the insecure thing, but I have gotten over that now, and yes, much happier. If I still live in Thailand, I’d bet you I will be considered a ‘fat’ one. lol
I’m 5′0″ (152.4 cm) and 100 lbs. (45.4 kg.). Atypical to Asian chopstick flat figure, I do have a butt.
In the U.S., my friends lovingly call me Skinny Little Asian Bitch Who Tans So Easily and Beautifully It’s Disgusting.
In Thailand, I’m an Americanized Little “Black”, Fat Bitch with J-Lo Ass.
So, there you go.
it’s amazing what make-up can do to us, but still inner beauty is the real beauty.
Das ist ja echt mal krass…macht Dove aber irgendwie Sympatisch…weil sie endlich mal zeigen was die Wahrheit ist!!

My wife is so happy here in the UK that she can find a lot of clothes her size and she doesn’t have to look in the extra large section of the store.
Beauty is no longer in the eye of the beholder….
