I picked up a book at the Nielson Hays Library in Bangkok recently written by a Brit who worked here in the early 1900s. It's basically his diary account of life in Siam between the two wars. It was certainly a very different life then but from the pictures there are areas that have not changed much. It looked a whole quieter and cleaner then. Sounds interesting.
