New Visa….
Dec 13th, 2006 by Lillian
Yesterday we got informed that we have to go to immigration tomorrow. At 8.30 am. Yes, the children have to show up to. My daughter is supposed to perform a short play but she won’t be able to.Understandably it upset her quite a bit. What to do… There are somethings that you just have to accept because you can’t change them. Like that the children have to WAIT at immigration. Couldn’t they just show their face and then go back to school? hmmmm
My husband and I are always soooo nervous. There is no reason we shouldn’t get the visa. He has a work permit and a letter of recommendation.. but still. It becomes very obvious that we are foreigners and we don’t really belong here.( Immigration office sort of does that to you, whatever country you’re in.) If for some reason, everything went wrong, and it wouldn’t get approved, it would have life changing consequences. I want to stay in Thailand !

It is the same here in the Philippines. I have to go there each time I leave the country (they are supposed to check if I didn’t do anything wrong and if they allow me to leave the country). Of course they don’t check anything. I just need to pay a fee for their “work”. Then I have to go every January to pay for the renewal of my VISA. Nothing bad, only a lot of paperwork and a loss of time & money.

I know I know I should have the camera with me AT ALL TIMES. I’ll take to immigration.
we all cross the fingers and hope it helps.
Good luck with that. I myself have to deal with the Thai passport renewal soon myself. Oy!

Best wishes for the day. I hope all goes well. Love to you all, Mum
