Usually they try hard to find something missing and insist that you come again, need something translated, need the correct stamp etc etc etc. I had to get a document verified for my wife, whilst I was in the UK. I went to the Thai Embassy who stamped the document with their official stamp and posted the document back to Thailand. Authorities here wouldn't accept it because they didn't recognise the Thai Embassy in the UK as official enough!! Arghh!! Keep smiling. As horrible as that is that is actually quite quick. I don't dread going to see him at all, and every year he says, 'See you next year'. However, there is always the possibility that the Arbeitsamt will decide that I'm not needed here and won't approve me for another year. I get nervous about that every November.
