Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok
Jan 31st, 2007 by Lillian
Last week, it was confirmed that the Suvarnabhumi Airport has cracks on its taxiways. On Thursday, the repair works also forced some flights to circle over the airport or land at UTapao military airfield in Chon Buri for refueling and temporary parking.
Alot of other bloggers from Thailand are writing about this.. I haven-t been at the airport but hey, cracks in the runway??!! I remember about a year ago a journalist was sacked because he wrote about the bad work at the airport . He wasn’t being patriotic enough….hmmmm… Well.. it seems he was right after all. The new airport has lots and lots of problems. Go and check out this webpage…

I have heard that the airport has many problems. That’s a shame. It’s a beautiful airport. I really liked the way it looks.
Typical Thai job….
This is one of the thing I can’t stand about Thais: Being sloppy in their jobs and the laisser-faire attitude.
A typical simple opinion. This is one of the things I cannot stand about some foreigners: being totally ignorant yet never failing to reach quick easy conclusions and the holier-than-you attitude.
It is not about the Thais being sloppy or the laisser-faire attitude. The problems are a result of incredible greeds, corruption, blatant lies, arrogance and recklessness of the ousted regime.
It has long been no secret among Thais that the new airport is plagued with serious problems. That was one of so many reasons why millions of us nation-wide turned against the previous government and hundreds of thousands of people took to Bangkok’s streets most of last year to demand that the ex-PM step down. That was also why so many Thais greeted the September 2006 coup with delights.
Sorry, I didn’t mean to offend you, Lillian. I was just responding to Elemmaciltur’s comment.
Kpitat.. apology accepted but don’t judge people so quickly. You don’t know Elem….
