In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness ….
hahaha all i know is my mum had to go through some of my worst years… I was those quiet but rebellious type… not a loner but don’t exactly get along well with the popular bunch in school. My mum let me learn things on my own at times because that is how I am… I hardly listen.
Not sure this help… but mum said when she was asked how she could go through it all… “just suck it up and be there for ur kid”. Somehow it works out just fine for me (ish… hahaha)
I’m dreading the time when the Juniorette hits her teens. If she is anything like I was, then I am in big trouble. I’m sorry I can’t recommend any books, but I reckon its best to go with your instincts
Yep, got all this to come. When the daughter was born I had this idea of reading books about parenting and then realised that there were just too many and every one of them seemed to offer a different point of view. I think knowing your kid is important and knowing when to let them make their own mistakes too. I also think support when it is needed is most important. But then mine is only three so hasn’t developed that wonderful teenage attitude yet.
Korbua.. suck it up and be there haha so true
Max and Haddock.. We are in preteens.. just hitting it. So far its been ok. But I want to read to be prepared as well as possible
I used to know everything when I was teenager.Sadly I’m older now
The best example to raise the them is to show them the right way … follow the TEN Commandments.
Sorry it is a bit late, I am looking through you blog on ideas to use for my assessment for school and came across this. I am 14 turning 15, and I think the best way to raise your child is to look after them to the best of you ability and be there for them when they want you. Sometimes they wont want you to butt into their lives, so just let them learn things on their own. I hope I helped!
