Chiang Mai smog update
Apr 24th, 2007 by Lillian
People, the smog has gone. At Songkran we had rain and then a nice big storm once or twice and the skies have been clear since. I can see Doi Suthep from one of our upstairs rooms again. The only challenge is the heat. What should we all be doing? Slow down, stay out of the sun especially at lunch time, use sunscreen and again drink lots and lots of water. There are loads of great swimming pools ( every hotel seems to have one, Chiang Mai Land , 700 year stadium, many mubahns have a nice pool.. eg Ban Ta Wan, Baan Nai Fun 2, Koolpuntevilla just to name a few.) The malls are also a good place to just hang out and avoid the heat
All those of you who have a nice cool office to work in.. this might be a good time to work long hours haha

Great news about the smog. The temperature is the next obstacle. I don’t want to become typical Dutch: always complaining about the weather, so we have to take it as it is. Monday we will arrive in Chiang Mai, and we are open for all kind of weather, but still very thankfull that most of the smog is gone….. We can see Chiang Mai in clear conditions…..
Its a bit like opening an oven door… 4 showers a day for me!
Those green mountains look so beautiful, one of the reasons I enjoy living in Chiang Mai.
The dogs at the shelter are taking turns to sit in the water bowl.
Ronald and Ally thanx for your comments.. the showers!!!!! how could I forget? 3 a day for me…
