Teachers killed in Narathiwat and Nuclear power Plant..
Jun 12th, 2007 by Lillian
Narathiwat is close to the Malaysian boarder. Its in Thailand. I read a report that one male and two female teachers were shot dead by two gun men and separate locations. The teachers were all Buddhists in a strong muslim area. I’m just shocked how the violence goes on and on. Teachers in that area have asked to be transfered. Ofcourse!! Its DANGEROUS to work there ! (Giving the teachers guns hasn’t really solved the problem either… ) Children won’t be going to school today because 100 schools have been closed. Is it safe for them at home? Can’t anything be done? At the same time I read here that Thailand plans to build its first two nuclear power plants for about US$6 billion (US$1 = RM3.46) to meet rising electricity demand and cut reliance on fuel imports, the nation’s energy authority said.
Maybe I should join green peace…isn’t it a bit early for this country to have anything nuclear? After being in the village up north, the unstable government and the problems in the south makes me wonder…. But what do I know.

Yeah, this one shocked me (again) into the reality of what is happening in the South of Thailand. Can’t the military station a few soldiers with rifles at EVERY guard gate to the school - and some inside the school grounds so that at LEAST the crazies aren’t shooting teachers in the heads IN FRONT of the students? Do they care that much or no? I think no. Something MAJOR needs done because it’s so horrifying. Sickening. Vern
