I’ve taken my kids swimming the last three days. Its been so HOT and sticky and the best place to be is the pool. There are many pool in Chiang Mai ! Most Hotels have one, some guest-houses. Many ‘mubahns’ or living areas have their own pool. Unfortunately the one where we live doesn’t have a pool. But its only 7 min drive to the closest. Its called Chiang Mai Land. Adults cost 50 Baht and kids 30 Baht. Its not cheap but the pool is always clean and well kept. Right next to t he pool is a great restaurant with mostly Thai food, but they do make spaghetti and burgers. The pool is 25 meters long and there is a kids pool behind it. The palm trees make it look pretty. During the day you might get some school children come in for a swimming lesson otherwise its empty. Thai people typically like swimming in the evening and it can get very crowded ! Thats when we go home
Swimming time

Hi Lilian
Thank you for your kind words on my blog re: London. It really is indescribable. There are still people trapped underground who are definately dead – the trouble is – no one knows exactly who they are yet as they can’t get to them. It’s so tragic. Despite that, there is an air of calm and defiance that we can all overcome this terrible tragedy. Best wishes.
