Hmong in northern Thailand
Jul 11th, 2005 by Lillian
1000s of ethnic Hmong in northern Thailand have been evicted from their homes. See the eviction in pictures on BBC news…
It doesn’t make top news but its still terribly sad. They can’t stay in Thailand and they return to Laos. Some have already been accepted as refugees and sent to the States. Apparently more than 50% are children under 10.
Am I glad, once again to belong to a privileged country, to have the choice where I want to live. To be able to raise my children in the country of my own choice. So often I take that for granted. Thank you God for this amazing freedom that so many people can’t enjoy.
